I think it was the chicken coz the chicken evolved into an animal then it layed eggs and started the whole thing.

If you believe in god, the chiken, cause all things came in their adult hood.
If you believe in evulution, still the chiken becuase it evolved from something and wouldn't just be an egg. As it finaly reached the stage of being a chicken, it would be a chicken, because some changes would of taken place in the chikens very short life.
If you believe in any other religion/theorys, then I really don't know.
But as I'm a catholic ( Not my fault ) I think it's the chicken =]

However. Josh's answer seems even more correct. Fish where indeed here before the dinosaurs. Therefore, the given answer may actually be wrong.

Well, uh, the whole dinosaur thing depends on what you believe. If your a religous person your going to say its the chicken since God made all the animals at once and therefore there isn't really a correct answer because different people are going to say different things.

Lol. True Gareth, but in the Bible, there is nothing stated about Dinosaurs. Dinosaurs have left their mark on the earth, eg. Fossils.
Humans came after the Comet thing. oo, what if we're aliens!? We arrived on the Comet and wiped them out, then took earth over for lols.

Related to meg's theory, there has been proof that with the atmopshere we had and the collision of the comet, Amino acids were formed. You know what amino acids are? Broken down proteins. The building blocks of life. Its basicly like a basic fatty structure. Apparently the comet kickstarted the whole evolution thing. :]
