Introduction

To the normal eye, a crystal is just a valuable and beautiful object desired for many uses like jewelery making. However, to a mancer, a crystal is a great tool that, if utilised correctly, can be used in conjuction with their Secret Art (See Xérvísh's Guide to the Secret Art!) to cause abnormal, useful or devastating effects.

Finding the right Crystal

So, you're a mancer and you wish to use crystals to apply to your Art. However, you can't just pick up a crystal and use it straight away. You need to find certain crystals for certain uses. For example, you can't use a crystal for offense if it is suited for healing and if you use your birth-crystal, it will be a lot more powerful than if you use something. Depending on your star alignment, certain abilities will be more powerful that others.

Birth Crystals

Choosing the right birth crystal can be very complicated. There are often more than one type of crystal for each month. Generally, it goes like this although there can be alternatives.

January - Garnet, Emerlad
February - Amethyst, Bloodstone
March - Bloodstone, Jade, Aquamarine
April - Diamond, Opal
May - Emerald, Sapphire
June - Pearl, Moonstone
July - Ruby
August - Peridot, Diamond
October - Sapphire, Agate
September - Opal, Jasper, Tourmaline
November - Topaz, Pearl, Citrine
December - Turquoize, Onyx, Blue Saphire

As you can see, there are more than one for everything except July (Ruby).
