It literally means soul cutter sword. It's from Bleach, i think. I don't watch it though.

I didn't read about bleach from the front page; i forgot it was even there.
I wasn't acting intelligent but merely stating what someone wanted to know.

I did however google Zanpakuto and then went to the Bleach Wikia page of Zanpakuto to see what it was. It defined it as '(literally. soul cutting sword.)' so therefore i found out what it meant and where it was from.

Well Roland,
Everyone has a standard form weapon,
Josh's is a Scythe, Mine is a Katana, Meg's is a Halberd, I think.
So yes, yours can be whatever.
Then there are two releases,
Each increasing in Reishi ( Reiatsu ) which is spiritual power.
And, in an example,
Josh's is a scythe,
When Josh goes first released state,
It turns into a mini titan thing. xD

My release is different, mine isn't physical,
Mine's spiritual, my first release gives me a huge surge in Reishi,
And allows me to form Reishi wings.
