Artes Most Secrete

Introduction

The Secret Art is a magic used by Mancers. They are different from things like Necromancers and Pyromancers and other kinds of mancer. Although they have the same kind of name, a Mancer is different. They utilise the secret art. An Energy drawn from the field which is created by something called a node which is like an invisible source of power. A Mancer, using a Pliance can see the field and nodes with the naked eye and the most talented of Mancers don't even need a Pliance.

Glossary

Node - A Source of Power. Rare places in the world where the power of the Secret Art is created and where some effects of the Secret Art are stronger. Nodes generate a field.

Field - The force surroundign a node. It generates the secret art that permeates all throughout the air and into other places like the Hyperplane.

Pliance - A device made of crystal that has been tuned to the field and allows a mancer to draw directly from it, charge crystals and see the field with the naked eye

Hyperplane - Another dimension (Where four dimensions are present) where stronger fields lay. Because of its four dimensions, it can cause anyone that enters it to go mad.

Withdrawal - A terrible feeling of loss and uncompleteness that a Mancer suffers from when they have their pliance destroyed or taken from them. It can cause madness and most don't recover from it.

Hedron - Another name for a crystal capable of storing power in it.

Anthracism - When you draw so much power that your body can't handle it and it begins to burn up from the inside which different affects on a person. Generally, the body combusts internally and then explodes. Gruseome and painful, once started, anthracism can't be stopped. When close to anthracism, you may begin smoking and your hair stand on end. Your skin will begin to take a charred look.

The Pliance

All mancers have a pliance but the most skilled don't need to use it.
It is a crystal that is usually worn on the neck, for safekeeping and easy access, that allows the mancer to see the field and draw their energy from it. It is first awakened which allows the mancer to unlock the crystal's hidden properties and abilities to be used. Without awakening, a crystal is useless for this. Once awakened, the Mancer spends time tuning it to their own body and mind so they can form a direct link to draw the energy from the field through. However, due to this link, if the pliance is taken away or destroyed, the Mancer will suffer terrible withdrawal or madness. This can be eventually overcome and they can find a new Pliance.

Awakening a hedron

A hedron is another name for a crystal which can be tuned to the field. To awaken a crystal, you must use your pliance to visualise the field. You need to draw power from the field using a sub-ethyric link (basically, drawing power into your body) into the hedron. You must use the most accurate amount of energy. Too little and it becomes permantly useless; too much and it shatters or anthracises* you. When it is awakened, you will feel a release of power surging into your hedron (crystal) and it will be ready to store power or spells in it.
